The value of your coin depends upon what it is, the date, mintmark, condition and rarity of your coin. These factors are all equally important. Please stop buy and show our coin buyer your item for evaluation. It's difficult to quote a price over the phone without seeing it. Please don't clean your coins. Ugly to you doesn't mean ugly to us. You can devalue your coin(s) considerably by cleaning them.Do I need an appointment & how does this work?
No appointment is needed unless you have a large collection to be evaluated. If you need a written appraisal done, we do ask you to make an appointment. Written appraisals are available for an hourly fee. We will look at your collection and make you a "no cost or obligation" offer on your items. At that time it's up to you to accept or reject our offer. If you accept offer, we pay you right away.What are the laws to sell coins or jewelry to you?
State and local laws will require you to be 18 years and older and have a valid driver's license, a government issued photo ID or a valid passport.Do you buy Flatware?
We only buy sterling flatware. Sterling flatware will be marked as .925, Sterling, Ster, or with a picture of lion and one paw is raised up. We DO NOT buy silver plated flatware.What are the new Sales Tax Laws on Coins?
As of January 1, 2017, part of the Ohio Sales Tax has been repealed. What that means is that 50% or higher bullion content which includes gold, silver, platinum & palladium, will no longer be taxed! ALL BULLION COINS ARE NO LONGER TAXED! However, on some collector coins including, cents, some type, nickels & coins dating after 1965 except for silver coins, will remain being taxed. All currency & jewelry are still taxed. Sales tax rate in North Olmsted is 8%.Do you take credit cards for bullion transactions?
We do not take credit card payments for bullion related transactions. We do accept credit cards(Visa, MC or Discover) for all other transactions.What does Carat-Coin-Collectibles Do?
